Rocky Mountain High
Holy crap! I did it! I moved. I'm in Denver and still trying to get my bearings. I feel like I've been out of touch forever! Damn, I never realized my addiction to the internet was so severe! Is there a 12 step program for that? I may need help: "Hi, I'm kcterrilynn (Hi kcterrilynn!) and I'm an internet addict..."
I'm still not hooked up at home (hey, cut me some slack, I've only been in the place for a few days...) so my post will be pretty sporadic for the next few weeks. The move went great (I never would've made it without my mom's help...she's such a good mom!) except for a minor hiccup on Sunday afternoon when I stepped out on the balcony to water some plants and my leg went through a rotten board in the deck. Scared the ever livin' shit out of me (did I mention I was three stories up?!)!! Thankfully, other than being bruised from hip to knee on one leg and spraining my foot, I'm okay. Nothing says 'welcome to Colorado' like spending three hours in the emergency room!
While driving to Dawn's house this morning (for my internet fix) I turned a corner and caught a view of the mountains and the canyon below that literally took my breath away. It was spectacular. And I can see it anytime I want. I still can't get my head around it. "Rocky Mountain High" indeed. Now I know what it means. I know I've been here less than a week, but I can honestly say that no decision I've ever made in my entire life has felt as right as this one.
