The Water's Edge

Sugar plum soft, your fingers on my skin
Holding on is like holding my breath
Sweet wine, the waters edge, softly, fragile but willing
I'll take my chances and make this kiss stand for something
Giving up is like birth and death- will it set my spirit free
Let's slow the moon and sun for all time
And we'll make this kiss stand for something

Realized I hadn't visited in a while, and WOW, did I pick a good time to swing by! What a beautiful poem, really lyrical. I miss kisses that stand for something. This piece captures that all perfectly.
